July 30th, 2015 by

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra is a popular commuter sedan with great mileage and top features. You can choose from four different trims on this great car, with three different levels of features and two different engines. See what’s in store for you when you pick the 2016 Hyundai Elantra!

SE

The base SE trim level of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra gets your typical basic features such as:

  • Full power accessories
  • Air conditioning
  • Cruise control
  • A trip computer

You’ll also get a 60/40 split folding rear seat, as well as a six-speaker sound system that comes with satellite radio. You can choose a Popular Equipment package that includes automatic headlights and fog lights, a blind-spot mirror, sun visors, and a sliding center armrest. You’ll also get Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity with voice controls, a 4.3-inch touchscreen with steering wheel controls, and a rearview camera for your safety along with a sliding center armrest.

This trim level is powered by a 1.8L four-cylinder engine, which produces 145 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque. You’ll get a standard six-speed manual transmission, while you can also opt for a six-speed automatic. Fuel economy is respectable at 37 mpg highway with the manual and 38 mpg highway with the automatic, according to EPA estimates.

Value Edition

The Value edition trim includes all of the items that come optional on the base SE trim level, adding features like keyless entry and ignition, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and heated front seats.

Limited

The Limited trim loses the sunroof, sadly. However, you’ll get features such as:

  • LED headlights and taillights
  • An adjustable steering effort control
  • Premium leather upholstery
  • A six-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Heated rear seats

You can additionally opt for the Ultimate package, which adds the sunroof, a navigation system, an upgraded audio system, and a 7-inch touchscreen.

Sport

The Sport trim is truly a performance-based vehicle, eschewing the leather upholstery, climate control, heated seats, and Blue Link for black exterior accents along with a special sport-tuned suspension and steering system that goes with the powerful engine. You can also purchase the Tech package, which adds the same items as the Ultimate package but also includes the Blue Link system.

The Sport makes up for its lack of standard features with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine that produces 173 hp and 154 lb-ft of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in an amazing eight seconds. You’ll also get 34 mpg highway with the manual transmission and 35 mpg highway with the automatic, according to EPA estimates.
