The 2017 Hyundai Tucson is a crossover that appeals to families, commuters, and adventurers alike. Its versatile interior is customizable with many luxury features, and when put next to the 2017 Honda CR-V, it becomes a star in a crowded segment. It’s available now in Del City, OK, and we’ve put the two beside each other below for you to evaluate which one is right for you in the Oklahoma City area!

Technology

Inside of the new Hyundai Tucson, you can enjoy heated seating surfaces with your leather or cloth-trimmed seating, and power-adjustable seats for your comfort. You can have a power tilt-and-slide sunroof and dual front automatic temperature control, too. A 5-inch touchscreen is standard, while an 8-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation is available for your infotainment needs. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay also allow you to seamlessly connect your smartphone for voice commands, app access, and more.

While the new Honda CR-V offers similar luxury technology, it’s only available on higher trims for a higher price. Its available 7-inch touchscreen does not include navigation unless you hike higher up the lineup, and features like power-adjustable seats are only available much higher, too. The Honda Tucson offers most of the aforementioned features on its economically friendly SE Plus trim—an unbeatable value.

Performance

The reviewers at Kelley Blue Book told consumers to “consider the 2017 Hyundai Tucson if your small-SUV needs include style, sophisticated technology and great fuel economy.” The Hyundai Tucson offers two engine options, a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that gives you up to 30 mpg/highway in fuel efficiency, and a 1.6L turbocharged engine that offers up to 32 mpg/highway on the ECO edition. A 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC is standard, while a 7-speed EcoShift Dual Clutch Transmission is available.

The Honda CR-V comes standard with a continuously variable transmission, which is not as smooth as the 6-speed automatic transmission. It does offer two comparable engine choices, but as the Hyundai Tucson starts at $22,700 and the Honda CR-V starts at $24,045, you’ll be saving more with smoother power when you choose the Tucson.
